Page Management

Pages are the building blocks of your website. This guide covers creating, organizing, and managing your site's pages.

Viewing Your Pages

Pages Panel

Access the pages list:

  1. Click the Pages icon in the left sidebar
  2. Or go to Settings > Pages
  3. See all pages in your site

Page List View

Each page shows:

Creating Pages

New Page

Create a new page:

  1. Click + New Page in the pages panel
  2. Enter page title
  3. Set URL slug (auto-generated from title)
  4. Choose layout
  5. Click Create

Page Settings at Creation

Set initial options:

  • Title - Page name (appears in browser tab)
  • Slug - URL path (/about, /portfolio)
  • Layout - Starting layout type
  • Template - Start blank or from template

Editing Page Settings

Access Page Settings

  1. Click the settings icon next to any page
  2. Or right-click > Page Settings
  3. Settings panel opens

Basic Settings

Visibility Settings

| Setting | Description | |---------|-------------| | Published | Visible to public | | Draft | Only you can see | | Hidden | Not in navigation but accessible | | Password | Requires password to view |

Layout Settings

Change page layout:

  1. Open page settings
  2. Click Layout
  3. Select new layout
  4. Confirm change

Note: Changing layout may reposition content.

Organizing Pages

Reordering Pages

Change page order:

  1. In pages panel, click and drag
  2. Drop in new position
  3. Order affects navigation

Grouping Pages

Create page hierarchy:

  1. Drag a page onto another
  2. It becomes a child page
  3. Creates nested URLs (/portfolio/project-1)

Setting Homepage

Designate your homepage:

  1. Open page settings for desired page
  2. Toggle Set as Homepage
  3. Or right-click > Set as Homepage

Homepage shows at your root URL.

Duplicating Pages

Copy a Page

Duplicate existing pages:

  1. Right-click the page
  2. Select Duplicate
  3. New page created with "(Copy)" suffix
  4. Edit as needed

When to Duplicate

Useful for:

  • Creating similar pages
  • Template starting points
  • A/B testing layouts
  • Backing up before changes

Deleting Pages

Delete a Page

Remove a page:

  1. Right-click the page
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm deletion

Important Notes

  • Deleted pages cannot be recovered
  • Consider hiding instead of deleting
  • Check for links to the page first

Safe Deletion

Before deleting:

  1. Check no other pages link to it
  2. Consider redirecting the URL
  3. Export content if needed

Page URLs

URL Structure

Default URL pattern:

yourusername.new.salon.io/sitename/page-slug

Changing Slugs

Edit the URL slug:

  1. Open page settings
  2. Edit Slug field
  3. Save changes

URL Best Practices

  • Use lowercase letters
  • Separate words with hyphens
  • Keep URLs short and descriptive
  • Avoid special characters

Nested URLs

Child pages have nested URLs:

/portfolio              (parent)
/portfolio/project-1    (child)
/portfolio/project-2    (child)

Page Status

Status Types

| Status | Meaning | |--------|---------| | Published | Live and accessible | | Draft | Work in progress, not public | | Hidden | Not in nav, but accessible via URL | | Password Protected | Requires password |

Changing Status

  1. Open page settings
  2. Select status from dropdown
  3. Save changes
  4. Republish if needed

Draft to Published

When ready to publish:

  1. Finish editing content
  2. Change status to Published
  3. Click Publish to push live

Bulk Actions

Select Multiple Pages

Hold Ctrl/Cmd and click to select multiple pages.

Bulk Operations

Available actions:

  • Delete - Remove selected pages
  • Hide - Hide from navigation
  • Show - Add to navigation
  • Move - Reorder in bulk

Page Templates

Save as Template

Save a page as reusable template:

  1. Right-click the page
  2. Select Save as Template
  3. Name your template
  4. Available for new pages

Using Templates

Create page from template:

  1. Click + New Page
  2. Select From Template
  3. Choose your template
  4. Customize as needed

Search and Filter

Finding Pages

Search for pages:

  1. Use search box in pages panel
  2. Type page title or URL
  3. Results filter in real-time

Filter Options

Filter by:

  • Status - Published, Draft, Hidden
  • Layout - By layout type
  • Date - Recently modified

Tips for Organization

  1. Plan structure - Map out pages before creating
  2. Consistent naming - Use clear, descriptive titles
  3. Logical hierarchy - Group related pages
  4. Regular cleanup - Delete unused drafts
  5. Homepage clarity - Make sure homepage is obvious
