Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of new.salon.io ("New Salon", "Service") operated by Salonio UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("Salonio", "we", "us"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using New Salon, you agree to comply with this policy. We reserve the right to modify this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

2. Purpose

New Salon is a creative platform designed for artists, photographers, and designers to build websites, connect with a community, and showcase their work. This AUP ensures that:

  • Our platform remains a safe, welcoming space for creative professionals
  • Users can trust the quality and integrity of content on our platform
  • We comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Our infrastructure and services remain secure and available

3. Prohibited Content on User Websites

When creating websites using New Salon, you may NOT host, publish, or distribute content that:

3.1 Illegal Content

  • Violates any applicable local, national, or international law
  • Promotes or facilitates illegal activities
  • Contains content related to illegal drugs, weapons trafficking, or other criminal enterprises
  • Facilitates fraud, phishing, or financial scams

3.2 Intellectual Property Violations

  • Infringes copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights
  • Contains pirated software, media, or other copyrighted materials
  • Misuses others' trade secrets or confidential information

3.3 Harmful Content

  • Contains viruses, malware, ransomware, or other malicious code
  • Is designed to phish, deceive, or defraud visitors
  • Impersonates another person, company, or entity
  • Contains false or misleading information intended to harm

3.4 Inappropriate Content

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) - zero tolerance, immediate report to authorities
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Extreme violence or gore intended to shock or disturb
  • Content that promotes self-harm or suicide

3.5 Hate and Harassment

  • Promotes hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Contains threats of violence or incites violence against others
  • Harasses, bullies, or intimidates individuals
  • Promotes terrorist organizations or extremist ideologies

3.6 Adult Content Policy

Artistic nudity may be permitted for legitimate artistic, educational, or documentary purposes. However, the following is prohibited:

  • Pornographic content or sexually explicit material
  • Commercial adult entertainment
  • Content depicting minors in any sexual context

4. Social Network and Community Conduct

When using New Salon's social features (following, liking, commenting, messaging), you agree to:

4.1 Respectful Behavior

  • Treat all community members with respect and courtesy
  • Engage in constructive criticism and feedback
  • Respect others' creative work and opinions
  • Honor others' privacy and personal boundaries

4.2 Prohibited Social Behavior

  • Harassment: Targeting users with unwanted, aggressive, or threatening communications
  • Spam: Sending unsolicited promotional messages, repetitive content, or mass communications
  • Manipulation: Creating fake accounts, artificially inflating engagement, or gaming the system
  • Doxxing: Sharing others' private information without consent
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be another user, public figure, or Salonio staff

4.3 SLN Credit System Abuse

The following activities are prohibited in connection with the SLN credit system:

  • Account farming: Creating multiple accounts to collect signup bonuses or referral rewards
  • Self-referral: Inviting accounts you control (using alternate email addresses, devices, or identities) to earn invite rewards or commissions
  • Credit manipulation: Exploiting bugs, race conditions, or system errors to inflate your credit balance or earn undeserved rewards
  • Fraudulent cash-out: Requesting cash-out of credits earned through prohibited activities
  • Collusion: Coordinating with others to artificially generate referral commissions or invite rewards through schemes where no genuine platform engagement occurs
  • Invite spam: Sending invitations to email addresses obtained without consent, purchased lists, or scraped contacts

Violations of these rules may result in forfeiture of all SLN credits, reversal of fraudulent transactions, and account suspension or termination.

5. Marketplace Conduct

When buying or selling on the New Salon Marketplace, you agree to:

5.1 Seller Requirements

  • Only sell items you have the legal right to sell
  • Provide accurate, honest descriptions of all items
  • Deliver purchased items promptly as described
  • Respond to buyer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Honor refund requests according to your stated policy

5.2 Prohibited Marketplace Items

  • Stolen or pirated content
  • Items that infringe third-party intellectual property
  • Content that violates our prohibited content guidelines
  • Counterfeit or fraudulent goods
  • Items requiring licenses or permissions you don't have

6. Technical and Security Rules

You may NOT:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or data
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service without permission
  • Conduct vulnerability scans or penetration tests without written authorization
  • Deliberately overload our infrastructure or conduct denial-of-service attacks
  • Circumvent security measures, access controls, or usage limits
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect user data without authorization
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service

7. Resource Usage

To ensure fair access for all users:

  • Do not use excessive bandwidth, storage, or processing resources
  • Do not host files unrelated to your creative portfolio
  • Do not use New Salon as a general file hosting or CDN service
  • Respect the fair use limits of your subscription tier

8. Enforcement and Consequences

8.1 Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this policy, please report it to abuse@salon.io or use the in-app reporting features. We investigate all reports promptly.

8.2 Actions We May Take

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may:

  • Warning: Issue a written warning for first-time or minor violations
  • Content Removal: Remove or disable access to violating content
  • Feature Restriction: Limit access to certain features (e.g., social, marketplace)
  • Temporary Suspension: Suspend your account for a specified period
  • Permanent Termination: Permanently terminate your account without refund
  • Legal Action: Report to law enforcement or pursue legal remedies

8.3 Zero Tolerance

Certain violations result in immediate permanent termination without warning:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Terrorism or extremist content
  • Distribution of malware or conducting attacks
  • Credible threats of violence

9. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing appeals@salon.io within 14 days of the action. Include your username, the action taken, and why you believe it was in error. We will review appeals and respond within 10 business days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through our platform or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
