Finding Your Account

The first step in migration is locating your salon.io account. This guide walks you through the account lookup and verification process.

Starting Migration

Access the Migration Tool

1. Log in to your New Salon account
2. Go to your Dashboard
3. Find the "Import from Salon.io" card
4. Click Start Import

The migration wizard opens.

Step 1: Enter Your Email

Enter the email address associated with your salon.io account:

1. Type your email in the field
2. Click Find Account
3. Wait for the lookup to complete

What Happens During Lookup

The system searches for your account in the salon.io database. This typically takes a few seconds.

Account Found

If your account is found, you'll see:

• Username - Your salon.io username
• Display Name - Your profile name
• Page Count - Number of pages in your account
• Account Type - Free or premium status

Preview Your Account

Before proceeding, verify this is the correct account:

• Check the username matches
• Confirm the page count seems right
• Review the account preview image

Account Verification

For security, you'll need to verify ownership.

Verification Options

Option 1: Password Verification

1. Enter your salon.io password
2. Click Verify
3. If correct, proceed to page selection

Option 2: Email Verification

1. Click Send Verification Email
2. Check your inbox for the verification link
3. Click the link to verify
4. Return to the migration wizard

Why Verification is Required

Verification ensures:

• Only account owners can migrate content
• Your images and content are protected
• No unauthorized access to your data

Troubleshooting Account Lookup

"Account not found"

If your account isn't found:

1. Check the email address

   • Try alternate email addresses you may have used
   • Check for typos

2. Try your username

   • Some accounts can be found by username
   • Enter: username@salon.io

3. Account may be deleted

   • Very old inactive accounts may have been removed
   • Contact support for assistance

"Multiple accounts found"

If you have multiple accounts:

1. Review the list of accounts
2. Select the one you want to migrate
3. Verify that specific account

"Verification failed"

If password verification fails:

1. Forgot password?

   • Use the salon.io password reset
   • Then return to migration

2. Try email verification

   • Alternative if password doesn't work
   • Check spam folder for verification email

3. Account locked?

   • Too many attempts may lock the account
   • Wait 15 minutes and try again

When your account is found, you'll see:

Basic Info

Privacy & Security

What We Access

During migration, we access:

• Page content and structure
• Images (to copy them)
• Layout configurations
• Basic profile information

What We Don't Access

We never access or store:

• Your salon.io password (only used for verification)
• Payment information
• Private messages
• Account settings you don't migrate

Data Handling

• Your salon.io account remains unchanged
• We copy content, not move it
• You can delete migrated content anytime
• Original remains on salon.io until you delete it

After Verification

Once verified, you'll proceed to:

1. Page Selection - Choose which pages to import
2. Import - Transfer your content
3. Review - Check and adjust migrated pages
